Claude Monet - The Japanese Bridge

In 1893 Monet, a passionate gardener, acquired a property with a pond near his property in Giverny and intends to build something "to the delight of the eye and also for motifs to paint". In 1899 he started with a series of eighteen views of the wooden bridge over the pond.
