Ernst Ludwig Kirchner - Davos with church

In 1918 Kirchner settled in Davos to recover after a long stay in the clinic for depression and morphine addiction. In the majestic Swiss mountain landscapes, he found relief from his fears and new inspiration, as in this painting, in which the alpine light reinforces the liveliness of the colors and leads to a calming, emotional representation of nature.
