Vincent van Gogh-fishing boats on the beach of Les Saintes-Maries-de-La-Mer

The fishermen boats look a little unreal. Compared to the irregular surface of the sandy beach, they have been painted too two -dimensional. The boats consist of evenly colored surfaces with strong outline. In addition, the boats do not throw shadows on the beach. Van Gogh from his collection of Japanese prints were known.
