Adult - Vincent van Gogh - Wild Roses

This image of wild roses may look very pleasant and peaceful, but Van Gogh was suffering from a severe psychological crisis at the time. Van Gogh painted the delicate flowers naturalistically. But he treated the green leaves differently. He transformed them into flat, monochromatic surfaces surrounded by heavy blue outlines.
