Claude Monet - water lilies

"A single moment, one aspect of nature contains everything," said Claude Monet in relation to his late masterpieces, the water landscapes that he created between 1897 and his death in his house in Giverny. These works replaced the diverse contemporary topics, which he had painted from the 1870s to the 1890s, with a single, timeless motif - the water lilies.
