Paul Cézanne - The big bathers

The recurring topic of the bathers is clearly classically inspired and aims to present the dream of a lost unit between humans and nature, a mythical harmony that presents the female element as a symbol of creative energy and nature as a source of refuge. The three large bathers, on which Cézanne worked in his last years from 1895 to 1906, are considered his spiritual will.
