Adults - Edvard Munch - Sick Mood at Sunset

This painting, dated 1892, is the forerunner of the famous work "The Scream", as Munch himself wrote in his diary when he recalled the moment of fear that gripped him before the clouds flaming like blood in the bright light of an Oslo sunset. The same diagonal perspective in both works underlines the extreme desperation and panic of the moment.
