Adults - Salvador Dalí - The Persistence of Memory

The Persistence of Memory is Salvador Dalí's most famous painting. The work shows three melted pocket watches arranged in the Catalan landscape in front of the rugged cliffs of Cap de Creus. There is a fly on one of the clocks, symbolizing how time flies. Another is eaten by ants, symbolizing transience and decay. In the center of the picture, a clock runs on an abstract face of the artist, depicted in profile, with his eyes closed.
